Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of MedFlash. By creating an account or making a purchase you agree to them.

1. Who we are

MedFlash (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online clinical-flashcard and test-question study platform built and run by a small founding team based in Sri Lanka. MedFlash currently operates on a home-based, not-registered basis — there is no incorporated company or sole-proprietorship registration behind it. References to “the company” throughout these terms mean the founding team collectively. The service is delivered through the website and progressive web app at medflash.org.

For any business or legal correspondence, contact us at support@medflash.org.

2. Eligibility & accounts

MedFlash is intended for medical students enrolled at universities in Sri Lanka. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account.

One person, one account. Sharing logins or distributing account access to other students is a breach of these terms and grounds for suspension without refund.

3. Content

All flashcards, test questions, images, explanations, and other study content on MedFlash are owned by MedFlash or licensed for use by us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the content for your own study while your subscription is active.

You may not:

  • copy, screenshot, screen-record, scrape, or otherwise reproduce the content;
  • redistribute, resell, or share the content with anyone outside your own account;
  • use the content to train any machine-learning or AI model;
  • use the service in any way that interferes with other users or our infrastructure.

The content is provided for study and revision support only. It is not medical advice, and clinical decisions in practice must be based on a qualified clinician’s assessment of the individual patient. We make no guarantee that the content is exhaustive or error-free.

4. Product information & pricing

We try to keep module descriptions, screenshots, and prices accurate at all times, but we do not guarantee they are exhaustive or error-free. Prices are displayed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and may change at any time without prior notice. Any promotions, redeem codes, or discounts are valid only for the period stated, may be withdrawn at any time, and may carry additional terms.

If a module is listed at an obviously incorrect price (a clear pricing error rather than a promotion) we reserve the right to cancel the affected orders before fulfilment and refund any amount charged.

5. Orders & payments

When you place an order on MedFlash you are making an offer to purchase the selected module(s). We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason — for example, suspected fraud, violation of these terms, unavailability of the module, or a clear pricing error. If we cancel an order after payment we will refund the full amount.

Payments are processed by PayHere, our third-party payment provider, under their own terms and security practices. Card numbers and other sensitive payment details go directly from your browser to PayHere — we never see or store them. PayHere shares only the payment status and a masked reference back to us so we can grant module access.

Module access is sold on a per-module basis with a discounted all-access bundle option. All purchases are subject to our Refund & Cancellation Policy. When a refund is approved under that policy, the amount is returned to the original payment method used at checkout (the same card, mobile wallet, or bank account that initiated the payment via PayHere), not as cash, credit, or to a different account.

Where recurring billing is available, your access auto-renews until you cancel from the Subscriptions panel in Settings. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues to the end of the current billing period.

6. Free trial

Each module includes a free trial (typically the first 10% of cards and questions, with a small floor so even short modules are usable). The trial is offered as-is, may change without notice, and does not create any commitment by us to provide the full module for free.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep MedFlash available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance, third-party outages (Supabase, Vercel, PayHere), and force-majeure events may cause downtime. We are not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, distribute our content, attempt to circumvent the paywall, or harm other users. Where a breach is substantiated, no refund is owed for the remaining subscription.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to your use of MedFlash is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (lost study time, exam outcomes, etc.).

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. For any questions, email support@medflash.org or use the Contact page.
